Description

Volunteers will support neighbors as they navigate our free-to-use grocery store, First Fruits Market, located inside Fresno Mission's City Center.

CCFB Customer Service Policy

  • Provide excellent customer service to all CCFB customers including CCFB clients, staff, donors, logistics personnel, agency personnel, volunteers, board members, and the general public.
  • Engage in the following tasks or behaviors that represent excellent customer service: timely responses, punctuality and attendance, treating others with respect, distributing quality product, being knowledgeable and providing accurate information, and using appropriate nonverbal and verbal communication.
  • Represent and advocate for CCFB in the community.

Expected Roles

  • Greeters: These volunteers will warmly greet and assist neighbors in a courteous and professional manner. Their duties include directing neighbors to the sign-in kiosk, managing queues, and providing an overview of the program to new neighbors.
  • Product Organizers: Responsible for documenting all incoming food items, arranging and replenishing shelves accessible to neighbors during operational hours. This volunteer ensures that products received from CCFB are inspected, dated, sorted, and properly stocked.
  • Shopping Assistants: Engage directly with neighbors during their shopping experience, offering assistance and guidance. They ensure neighbors select the appropriate quantities based on their family size while fostering friendly conversation.
  • Check Out Attendants: Process and bag groceries for neighbors once they have completed their shopping.
  • Floaters: These volunteers provide assistance wherever necessary, ensuring smooth operations across all stations. They offer relief to other volunteers when needed, temporarily assuming their responsibilities to allow for breaks or time away.

Please note: Volunteer tasks are predetermined by staff and are selected on an “as needed” basis.*
